Plumbing trade knowledge examinations are conducted in a paper-and-pencil format and are available multiple times throughout the year. Moreover, all exams are open book and comprise multiple-choice questions, covering various content areas outlined in the examination content guide. Specifically, the General Trade Knowledge examination is split into two sessions. First, the morning session includes 45 equally weighted questions and 5 isometric drawings, each valued at 10 points. Then, the afternoon session consists of 65 equally weighted questions. Finally, your scores from both sessions will be aggregated to determine your overall score for this examination. Two forms of valid signature identification, one of which is government issued: driver’s license, state identification card, passport, or military identification card. Student or employment I.D. cards and photo-bearing credit cards are not acceptable as picture-bearing identification. Candidates will not be admitted without showing proper identification. Your name and address must match what was submitted on your application.
