General Contractor Reference Books (STATE)

Trade Reference Books (STATE)

Beginning in 2020, a handful of the reference books below will be removed from the State’s required reference list. While these textbooks are no longer required and aren’t permitted to be brought into the test site, the State claims they can still be used to help study for your exam.

These books include: Walker’s Building Estimator’s Reference Book, Placing Reinforcing Bars, Design & Control of Concrete Mixtures, Principles & Practices of Commercial Construction, Application and Finishing of Gypsum Panel Products (GA-216), and Builder’s Guide to Accounting. You will still need the Builder’s Guide to Accounting for your Business & Finance exam however.
